Llanfaes Little Steps/ Camau Bach is a setting for children of 3 and 4 years old.

We are registered with Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW Registration Number W02000387) and are registered for 21 children.

The setting is based at Llanfaes CP School and is managed by the Setting Leader, Headteacher and a designated group of the school Governing Body. It is provided
through Powys County Council and the responsible individual is Mrs C North and Mrs A Morris and the person in charge is Miss C Bailey.

The aim of Llanfaes Little Steps/ Camau Bach is to provide quality, accessible 3+ funded sessions as well as offering all day wrap around care if required. We follow the curriculum for funded non maintained nursery settings to provide an engaging experience in a welcoming environment.

Admission Policy

All children are entitled to 10 hours per week from the term after their third birthday funded by the Welsh Assembly Government. All applications for a place as a 3-year-old in the setting need to be made via Powys County Council. Please visit

Admissions will contact parents directly with the sessions that have been allocated.

Educational Setting Times:

• Morning: 9:00 am until 11:00 am
• Afternoon: 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm

The setting is run by experienced members of staff who are both enthusiastic, caring and approachable.

What does my child need to bring with them?

Your child will need an outdoor coat and a pair wellies with them as we love to go outside. Smarties do have a sweatshirt available – please see the setting leader for full details.

Breakfast Club

Ysgol Llanfaes runs a Breakfast Club from 8.00am – 9.00am which Camau Bach children are welcome to join. The cost is £2.50 per child per day.

School Dinners

School meals are available to children who attend Camau Bach and cost £2.55 per day.

The Childcare Offer for Wales

We are an approved provider for the Childcare Offer for Wales – an initiative that will provide working  parents up to 30 hours free child care. The 30 hours childcare is a combination of Foundation Phase Nursery (10 hours) and childcare (up to 20 hours). For  full please click here. Parents apply for this offer, not the setting.
